I’m a Victim

In life we have moments where we feel powerful and mighty and other times we feel as if we have control over nothing. Sometimes it feels as if the world is random, that ‘bad things will always happen to good people’ and there is nothing we can do about it. If you think this way, then you’re right…but you’re still wrong.

The Bible tells us, in Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”. Practically, this means you are what you think and feel you are. This doesn’t mean that truth is subjective, but it does mean you mind is very powerful. As an example consider Pediophobia, which is the fear of non-sentient representations of life or dolls, mannequins and robots.

I’m Afraid of Robots

To anyone who does not have this fear, it may seem ridiculous because most of us realize dolls and mannequins (and most robots) are completely harmless. In the mind of a Pediophobiac ‘their truth’ is ‘The Truth’, but just try and convince them otherwise and you’ll see The Truth in the previous scripture.

So, if you think “bad things always happen to good people”, the world is random and beyond your control, then you’re in need of an education about the reality God created for us. When you realize the truth about our world, it will set you free, but it also confines you.

Becoming a Farmer

It will be helpful to understand the meaning of the Biblical Law of the Harvest which states: God can not be mocked and you always reap what you sow. It sounds a lot like the modern Law of Attraction, which is a just a rip-off of biblical principles. Like most cheap imitations, you get what you pay for.

The Law of the Harvest is the reason why ‘bad things happen to good people”. See the bible says that no one is good, we are all sinners and have fallen short of the Glory of God – which is why God sent Christ to us as a means of salvation.

The other side of this is we are often very unaware of how our actions impact the world around us so we chock it up to random and beyond our control. The Law of the Harvest tell us we will always get what we deserve. This has two primary implications. One: If you want something better than what you have now then you should get excited at this because God has promised us that all you have to do is work for it. Two: With great power comes great responsibility, so when God gives us the power to control our own circumstances he also holds us accountable for our actions.

The Big Cop-out

To claim a victims stance and claim we are not in control is a cop-out. It gives us the excuse that we can self-medicate or do what ever we please because it doesn’t really matter because we say the words “I’m not in control”. This changes nothing and makes your life miserable. Once we realize who we are and what power we have been given by God we can set free. The realization of this freedom often comes with a great appreciation for God and a joyful willingness to serve.

Imagine a person solved your biggest problem in life, how grateful would be? How grateful will you be if God gave you the ability to solve ALL the problems in your life. God is not only giving you the way to overcome your addictions he is giving your the way to transform your entire life – to find true happiness.

Drug Addiction Treatment Tip: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” – Luke 10:27 (ESV) The feeling from selflessness and love are high-energy emotions that produce endorphins in the brain. The same endorphins (brain chemicals) that get released during addictive behaviors. Become addicted to being of service to God and people….scientifically speaking, it will make you happy.
