Death of an Addict
Finding Practical Christian Drug Addiction Treatment: This is my story of where God brought me from, from an addict and alcoholic to an amazing work of God. God took me from unrepentant sinner to a striving saint, but still with sinner’s struggles and sufferings. When I surrendered my life to Christ, I suddenly discovered, to my disappointment, that my cravings had not left me, so that is not my testimony and neither was it the apostle Paul’s (Romans 7 ).
We’re all addicted to something, but that can be a good thing – if your heart desires God. Here you can find help with prescription drug addiction – hisspaceonline.org is more than inpatient rehabilitation this is spiritual rehabilitation.
Finding a New Life
What i had to learn was how to live the new life that had been given to me, so this is what i want to share with you. First to my pleasant surprise i discovered my story was actually God’s story. In other words, God is telling his story through my story of struggles and suffering just like he did through biblical characters. People like Job and of course his own son Jesus who surrendered, suffered, and sacrificed his life through crucifixion on the cross are central characters in God’s story.
Giving It All Away
Here is what i found out when Christ surrendered his life to his father on the cross: it was only then that God got the victory. So it is with us. It is only through a surrendered life that we get victory and at the same time experience suffering that brings Joy.
Finding Happiness
I know it is hard to understand how suffering brings joy. If you’re a parent you may be able to relate to this easily. When you love your children deeply and desire their happiness – you’re willing to sacrifice for their well-being. While this is odd since the idea of sacrifice usually leads to some level of suffering, but in a parent/child relationship this type of suffering often brings indescribable joy.
Secret Recipe
This is so much more true with our heavenly father. Life is so special and precious. When we surrender our desires to the desires of our fellow men we are considered great, altruistic and compassionate – and we receive joy from this. This is simply called being of service. If being of service to man can be immensely fulfilling, how much more joyful can being of service to God be.
A High Better Than Drugs And Alcohol
Being a servant of God is never easy, but as the saying goes nothing worth doing was ever easy. the other side of the coin is those things worth doing often bring in direct proportion to the sacrifice. In fact our God has promised this – it is guaranteed. If you want to find out how to experience sustainable joy in the midst of life’s hardest challenges – stick-around you’re in the right place.
I’m Still An Addict
As Christian and a Pastor my life is more challenging than it ever was as a junkie and an alcoholic, but today I love myself, I love my God and Love my Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Before I was a servant to drugs and alcohol, today I am Servant of God and this brings more Joy into my life than any addiction ever did.
Life is a journey, not a marathon. Stay with me we’ll win together.
